 HANGING DISTANCES:

-Important -

Read before hanging your hammock:

• Carefully remove hammock from packaging. Lay hammock on flat surface and carefully unfold. Always handle your hammock by the end loops to avoid tangling.

 • Hanging Instructions:

If you are hanging the hammock from a tree, as a rule, the tree should be a minimum of 12" in diameter. If using a post, 4"X4" is the smallest size we recommend you consider using. Be sure theposts are in good condition, without cracks or rot. Trees and posts both should be hardwood, not soft, and whatever posts chosen should be treated lumber, or a type of wood resistant to rot, from exposure to moisture. Posts should be cemented in the ground a minimum of two feet, deeper if the soil is sandy. Place post in the center of the cement filled hole and let dry 48-72 hours before use.
The minimum distance required to hang your hammock will be slightly more than the overall length of the hammock. If your hammock is 13 feet from end ring to end ring, then 14 feet is the minimum distance required to hang your hammock. Hammock end points should be hung 4-feet high off the ground. If the two hanging points for the hammock are farther apart than the overall length of the hammock, use either rope or chain to extend your hanging points. The same would apply to a stand. We recommend extending the hanging points in equal lengths on both ends of the hammock. We also suggest extending the hanging points no farther than 18 inches on each end. The more it is extended past 3 feet, the more unstable it will become.

Entering Your Hammock:

Stand beside the hammock, near the center. Step towards the hammock forcing it to tip 45 degrees with the edge of the hammock at your knees. Turn your back to the hammock and sit down as close to the center as you can. Lean to one side using your elbow as support. Lift first one leg then the other onto the hammock and recline. Place your hands behind your head, close your eyes, and begin to  "Enjoy the Ride"

Exiting Your Hammock:

Prop yourself up on your elbows and lean forward. Swing first one leg, then the other over the edge of the hammock and move to a sitting position. Plant both feet firmly on the ground, lean slightly forward and stand.

Cleaning Instructions:

Lay the hammock on any hard surface free of debris. Using a bucket of water with mild detergent and a soft bristle brush, clean the hammock bed on one side, then flip the hammock and clean the other side the same way. This will allow you to inspect the string as well. If you see dark, or black discoloration, (mold or mildew) be sure to clean that area thoroughly. Once clean, hang it to dry. It is important to make sure your hammock dries completely. Hang in direct sunlight as if you were going to use it. This should allow it to dry in one to two full days.

Storage:
Before storing, your hammock should be clean and completely dry. Hold an end-hanging ring in each hand, and bring them together folding the hammock in half. When storing, it is important to protect against moisture, soiling, and critters. The easiest way to prevent these threats to your hammock is to use a storage bag made of outdoor, weather resistant, durable fabric that allows the hammock to breath. You may also hang the hammock from its metal rings in your garage, basement or anywhere it will remain dry and out of the way.

!  Caution: Falling and Strangulation Hazard! Hammocks can be unstable.Be careful entering and exiting your hammock as injury may result. Children can become entangled in hammock strings. Do not leave children unattended in hammock.
